I am Director of Internal Research at Mirimus Inc, Research Assistant Professor of Cell Biology at SUNY, and Visiting Scholar at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. The major goal of my research team is to develop next generation sensing devices for the detection and monitoring of different human health hazards. Previous research directions include the engineering of tissue grafts and tissue replacement products, the manufacturing and testing of implants and biomaterials, the design and validation of bioreactor systems, organ-on-a-chip, and stem cell-based therapy. During over 15 years of research, I have had the opportunity to teach and mentor numerous undergraduate and graduate students and supervise several PhD and postdoctoral fellows.

María Daniela Defagó graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition (2003), later obtaining the title of Technical Assistant in Bromatology (2004), a Doctor of Health Sciences at the National University of Córdoba (2010) and a Master's Degree in Clinical Effectiveness from the University of Buenos Aires (2017). She completed her postdoctoral degree in the Department of Cardiovascular Epidemiology at Tulane University (New Orleans, United States, 2011-2012), training in genetic and molecular epidemiology. She was a fellow of the Bernard Lown Cardiovascular Health program at Harvard University, United States (2014). She currently works as a teacher-researcher at the School of Nutrition of the Faculty of Medical Sciences (UNC), an associate researcher at INICSA-CONICET and as an associate researcher at the Center of Excellence in Cardiovascular Health (Institute of Clinical and Health Effectiveness, Buenos Aires). Aires). Her line of research includes the study of chronic diseases and biomarkers. She has participated in numerous national and international scientific events and has publications in international scientific journals. She is co-director of the Public Health Magazine of the National University of Córdoba since 2021.

**Vuk Uskoković, PhD, MSc, MS, BSc, is a Serbian-Slovenian-American scientist, educator and multimedia artist, currently a lecturer in engineering at San Diego State University, a visiting professor at University of Montenegro and the Cofounder and Chief Scientific Officer at TardigradeNano LLC, a zero-profit biotech startup, think tank and educational and social advocacy powerhouse, all under one hat, located in Irvine, California. Dr. Uskoković holds degrees in physical chemistry (BSc & MS), materials science and engineering (MSc), and nanoscience and nanotechnologies (PhD), and has completed postdoctoral trainings in colloid chemistry, fine particle synthesis, biomimetics, tissue engineering and controlled drug delivery. Prior to his current appointments, he was a professor in the schools of engineering, pharmacy and medicine at the University of California in Irvine, Chapman University and University of Illinois in Chicago, respectively, where he ran research labs and taught a variety of subjects, including biomaterials, nanophysics, medical devices, biologics, bio-optics, and other. He was also a principal investigator and a research scientist at University of California in San Francisco, Clarkson University in New York, Jožef Stefan Institute in Slovenia, and the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Dr. Uskoković’s research, which resulted in over 200 authored publications, provided major contributions to the scientific understanding of a number of critical phenomena from physical and biological sciences. Many of Dr. Uskoković’s discoveries have originated from the enthusiasm to address the pressing medical needs of humanity, particularly in the domains of targeted drug delivery, bone tissue engineering, and next-generation antimicrobial and anticancer therapies. Dr. Uskoković is the recipient of the prestigious Pathway to Independence Award from the National Institutes of Health and a prolific author of research papers, reviews and essays throughout his decades-long scientific career. A true renaissance scientist, Dr. Uskoković has also been a lifelong advocate of the union between natural sciences, arts and humanities. A quintessential contribution to this interdisciplinary venture came through his pioneering work on treating scientific paper as a medium for combined displays of analytical rigor, scientific novelty, humanistic values and artistic expression.**
