About

I am an interdisciplinary, environmental scientist with interests and experience researching food systems. I received my Bachelors and Masters of Science in Biological Engineering from Purdue University. Currently, I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Environmental Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder. My work combines economics, data science, engineering, and environmental science to study food technology, food security, and food systems transformations. Within this theme, my current research focuses on using quantitative methods to characterize tradeoffs and synergies in agri-environmental systems, to understand the socio-economic impacts of new food technologies, and to identify opportunities that improve food systems efficiency. I have worked on a variety of topics related to food systems, including food loss and waste, food security, environmental impacts, science and regulatory policy, and farm animal welfare.
